Ingredients[edit]

  • 0.75 cups butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 0.25 cups molasses
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.5 tsp ginger
  • (Additional sugar as needed for rolling - about 0.5 cups)

Instructions[edit]

  1. In a medium bowl, mix butter, sugar, and egg until smooth, then stir in molasses.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine rest of dry ingredients.
  3. Blend dry ingredients gradually into wet ingredients while mixing.
  4. Chill and cover for 1 hour
  5. Preheat oven to 375
  6. Roll dough into walnut-sized balls and roll them in sugar. Place them 2in apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Bake 8 to 10 minutes until tops are cracked.
