Molasses Cookies

Ingredients[edit]
- 0.75 cups butter, melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 0.25 cups molasses
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 0.5 tsp ginger
- (Additional sugar as needed for rolling - about 0.5 cups)
Instructions[edit]
- In a medium bowl, mix butter, sugar, and egg until smooth, then stir in molasses.
- In a separate bowl, combine rest of dry ingredients.
- Blend dry ingredients gradually into wet ingredients while mixing.
- Chill and cover for 1 hour
- Preheat oven to 375
- Roll dough into walnut-sized balls and roll them in sugar. Place them 2in apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes until tops are cracked.
